Began curating a custom, in-house CMS in April 2026 primarily focused on data sovereignty, reducing overhead costs, allowing staff to self-manage content. Experience
Sole IT admin for a full-service event venue.
- Audited the existing security posture on arrival — rotated compromised credentials, enforced unique secure passwords, secured POS hardware access, and ran phishing awareness training for staff.
- Researched hardware requirements and purchased a stateful firewall and managed switch. Designed and segmented the network to isolate POS traffic using VLANs and limiting cross-chatter with ACL rules. Configured firewall exceptions and passed third-party audits for PCI DSS compliance. Added personal VPN and antivirus on all endpoints.
- Conducted wireless surveys to detect the range of the router and any frequency conflicts, then upgraded to a higher output model for handheld payment processing during events.
- Implemented OneDrive for regular operational backups, and an airgapped encrypted drive for ransomware protection.
- Removed duplicate subscriptions, introduced new technologies as cost-saving measures, delivered price comparison reports and made recommendations to executive management. Migrated Microsoft 365 licenses, OneDrive, Outlook, website files, email services, and domain services between providers three times.
- Diagnosed recurring email deliverability issues — traced them to shared IP blocklisting from a bad hosting neighbor, migrated to a new provider to permanently fix reputation. Configured email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) to prevent spoofing and improve deliverability.
- Modernized their website and established web analytics for SEO purposes.
- Salvaged parts from two defective PCs for a new office unit that ran for 10 more years. RIP 2026.

- Built a functional small business website with HTML, CSS and Bootstrap. Fully responsive, optimized for faster loading, SEO and analytics.
- Maintained and updated content based on venue events and photo refreshes.
- Created a custom CMS to meet venue needs, including elements of self-service for the purposes of content creation and management.
- Expanded in-house toolkits to reduce reliance on external vendors. A unified dashboard for marketing brought many services under one roof.

Projects
Event Venue Website & RSVP System
Built a full website for a garden estate wedding venue with an interactive event planner and guest RSVP system. Stood up a MySQL database for response tracking, configured CORS and rate limiting, and placed database credentials outside the web root. Deployed to shared PHP hosting via SSH with key-based authentication.
Windows Server and Active Directory (AD) Lab
Spun up a home lab for structured learning exercises. Windows Server 2022 was used as the base domain controller, then joined to three new Windows 11 VMs as users. Added an assortment of GPOs ranging from password hardening measures, to a standardized background image, and mapped a network drive then implemented a RBAC to enforce privileged access.
Custom Server Build
Selected and sourced all components for a custom-built server with no vendor documentation available. Assembled the hardware from parts and automated portions of the OS installation and configuration. Set up code linting and error reporting pipelines.
Event Venue Website & Interactive Planner
Designed and built a responsive website for a garden estate wedding venue. Features an interactive event planner where couples customize their ceremony and reception, a guest RSVP system backed by MySQL, cookie consent management, a privacy policy, and custom error pages. Built with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and vanilla JavaScript.
Self-Service Marketing Dashboard (Prototype)
A tool for non-technical users to interface with website management and have a real impact in live content. Domain owners control their own link-in-bio, post event listings, generate QR codes, create surveys and track analytics to help shape content creation suggestions.
HIPAA: Features guardrails to prevent PHI collection, self-hosted Umami on a VPS to keep data where it belongs, patient-oriented tooling for self-help and advice, a lightweight chatbot that runs within the client device to prevent data transmission or PHI collection and a custom waiting room for telehealth featuring “get ready for your appointment” strategies.
Future Goal: Daily, bite-sized items like reviewing current content for signs of aging or suggestions for new content to create. This will most likely present itself in the form of a daily mini-game with progression and unlockable content for completion.
